About Melanie

I started writing children’s books years ago when my son was dealing with temporary physical problems that caused him to experience things differently from other children.

I enjoyed writing books for him so much that I just kept writing and writing.

I grew up just outside of Chicago and studied writing at Southern Illinois University and the University of Iowa. Today I live in Sequim, Washington with my husband, Mike, and my little pup, Murphy.
